    DevOps Engineer (Java / AWS)

    Help shape cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, developer experience and operational excellence for a Belgian sustainable mobility platform running on AWS.

    Dinix Software is a product-focused software engineering company based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. We work as the long-term engineering partner of a Belgian sustainable mobility platform used across multiple European markets.

    The platform runs on a modern AWS-based microservices architecture and powers corporate mobility budgets, digital ticketing, Mobility-as-a-Service in cities, and integrations with leading financial and enterprise applications. As the platform and the engineering organisation continue to scale, we are opening a DevOps Engineer role with a strong Java background to help shape cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, developer experience and operational excellence across the platform.

    This is primarily a platform engineering and enablement role rather than a traditional operations or support position. While this is not primarily an application development role, familiarity with Java and Spring Boot microservices matters, because the platform engineering function works closely with backend services and developer workflows.

    We are looking for an engineer with 4-5+ years of experience and clear potential to grow. You will work closely with backend engineers, technical leadership and external infrastructure partners to improve platform reliability and delivery efficiency. The role reports directly to the Managing Director of Dinix Software. The role is remote-first initially, with a planned transition to a hybrid setup in Plovdiv from H2 2026.

    What you will work on

    • The CI/CD landscape end-to-end - build, test, release and rollback flows - focused on automation, reliability and delivery speed.
    • The AWS cloud environment: account structure, IAM, networking, certificate lifecycle, cost optimisation and security baseline. You will work closely with our external AWS partner and gradually take more ownership of cloud standards and day-to-day decisions.
    • Infrastructure-as-Code: extending the Terraform footprint, encouraging reusable modules and treating environments as reproducible artefacts.
    • Observability across services: logs, metrics, traces, dashboards and actionable alerting.
    • Developer experience: tooling, templates and self-service patterns that help product engineers ship safely and quickly.
    • Driving the adoption and effective use of AI-assisted engineering workflows across the team.

    The technology stack

    • Java and Spring Boot microservices (the platform operates a sizeable fleet of services on AWS).
    • AWS as the primary cloud platform.
    • Source control and CI/CD: GitHub and GitHub Actions, alongside Jenkins for delivery pipelines.
    • Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform.
    • Containerisation and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Observability and monitoring tooling for logs, metrics, traces and actionable alerting.
    • Release automation, developer tooling and internal automation across the engineering workflow.
    • PostgreSQL for transactional data.
    • Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for collaboration and ticketing.
    • AI-assisted engineering workflows as a first-class part of how we build, review and operate the platform.

    What we expect

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or IT, or equivalent through professional experience.
    • 4-5+ years of hands-on experience in a professional engineering environment.
    • Working experience with Java / Spring Boot microservices in a cloud architecture.
    • Practical experience with AWS, or a comparable cloud platform with willingness to deepen on AWS.
    • Familiarity with at least one infrastructure-as-code tool (Terraform preferred) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • A fast-learning mindset - able to pick up unfamiliar tools and parts of the stack independently, while asking good questions when needed.
    • Comfortable troubleshooting issues across services, environments and infrastructure.
    • Clear written and spoken English - you will collaborate daily with an international client team.
    • Ability to document decisions, runbooks and operational procedures clearly and consistently.

    Nice to have

    • Experience designing reusable CI/CD pipelines across GitHub Actions and Jenkins, including shared workflows and release automation patterns.
    • Experience with observability and monitoring tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, OpenTelemetry or similar, with a focus on practical dashboards, useful alerts and clear visibility into system health.
    • Building developer-enablement tooling: internal CLIs, golden-path templates, paved-road services and self-service infrastructure.
    • Cloud-native delivery patterns - progressive delivery, blue/green and canary deployments, feature flags.
    • PostgreSQL and relational database operations in a production environment.
    • Linux systems administration, networking and security fundamentals (DNS, VPN, SSH, certificates, symmetric vs. asymmetric encryption).
    • Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD and Microsoft 365 administration.
    • Scripting and automation with Bash, Python or similar.
    • Secure delivery practices: secrets management, dependency and container scanning, least-privilege access.
    • Practical day-to-day use of AI-assisted engineering tools in coding, review or operations.
